our current issue: jaws16

Jaws16, the autumn issue of 2008. As always, our wide range of topics is proof of the creativity of all the journalists, artists, writers and students who contributed to our magazine. The topic for this issue is ‘change’ (any similarities to political mottos are purely coincidental) a theme which is reflected in every section.

In the lifestream you can read about what has changed in the English and American departments and you will also find accounts of how the life of a student changes when they  decide to spend some time abroad. Additionally there is a very informative report about the history of a very popular holiday and a special treat for the dedicated linguist in this section.  Also the poetry section has undergone a slight change, and you can now find many new names there, next to a few authors you may already know from previous issues. Further, you will be introduced to a hip young band from Graz as well as new CDs you must not miss this autumn.

Some things never change, though, and so we have got another review of a text from the reading list for you as well as our interactive section with all new quizzes and puzzles. Again, you can win a fabulous prize in our second literature quiz, but, for the first time, you have got another chance of winning: in a writing challenge related to the long-awaited second part of the ‘Norman Brown Murder Mystery”. So get your brains ready!

Thanks to the support of the Office Pub and the Uni Café, we are again able to attach some vouchers for you. So you can enjoy a warm coffe or a delicious mixed drink while reading your favourite magazine!
